Discover how network convergence, 5G and edge data center technologies will impact your post/base through smart light pole deployments.

Covering FTTx, network convergence, IoT, WiFi, FWA  and small cell integration on the pole and the different concealment considerations for the smart base of tomorrow?

In the smart(er) post/base of tomorrow we are starting to see more networks converging, supplying connectivity from edge devices to data centers regionally or at the edge.  This is very similar to what is happening in our cities.  These FTTx networks needs to be designed with a plug & play mentality in mind; offering flexibility, scalability and redundancy in the network like never before. With the military, these networks also have to be designed with the highest security in mind.  Fueled by the 5G movement and IoT explosion we are seeing a tremendous amount of edge devises being deployed on our streets.  From public Wi-Fi hotspots, EV chargers, security cameras, small cells and gunshot sensors; most of these devices are migrating to vertical real estate.  Without a vision and strategic plan these poles are being overloaded causing aesthetic nightmares for local post/base and service providers racing against the market.  In this session we will share some thoughts around deployment considerations, technology solutions and best practices across the globe dealing with the smart post/base trojan horse  smart poles.

Also, we will discuss best practices to power, connect and secure edge devices from a network methodology perspective on the smart pole.
